Tarka Trail - Accessible from Torrington 

You can either cycle or walk the Tarka trail which is accessible from Torrington. 
 
A wonderful 163 mile path that links the coast to the moors and follows in the footsteps of Henry Williamson’s Tarka the Otter. It brings people face to face with the landscape, cultural heritage and wildlife that makes our part of Devon so special. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Beaches 

There are a multitude of local beaches throughout North Devon including Westward Ho! which is just 20 minutes away and the closest Beach to Windsor House B&B Guest House.  
 
You can find other local beaches at Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe which are all within an hours drive from our B&B. 

Places to Visit 

Just one mile away from the Windsor House B&B Guest House is RHS Garden Rosemoor an enchanting garden with a lot to see and do.  
 
Within the local area there is also many more charming gardens and National Trust properties including Arlington Court and Castle Drogo. 

Golf Courses 

The Great Torrington Golf Club is a friendly golf club set on common ground in Torrington, where golfers can enjoy the breathtaking scenery whilst enjoying a round of golf. You can also visit England's oldest Golf Course which is situated in Westward Ho! - The Royal North Devon Golf Club.  
Recently placed in Golf World 's "Top 100 Courses in the World" that a golfer “must play”.  
 
Another fantastic local golf course is the Saunton Sands Golf Club with 36 holes which you can visit and enjoy a round of golf in North Devon. 

Local Theatre 

In the centre of Torrington we have a very popular local theatre The Plough Art Centre they regularly have productions, live music, comedy and satellite screenings for the community to enjoy. Visit their website to find out what's on during your stay.  

Unique Attraction  

Visit Dartington Crystal the only remaining glass factory in the UK, take a tour around their exhibition centre to learn all about this famous glass factory and see their skilled glass makers in action. You can get involved with a range of activities available for all ages, they also have a lovely cafe, restaurant and factory shopping to enjoy. Visit their website here
